The Evaluation DatabaseThe Evaluation Database (TED) is a system that supports Early Years service providers in collecting evidence to allow for easier and more efficient monitoring and evaluation of services. It was also delevoped with Birmingham City Council and allows centres from across the city to compile information for Ofstead reports, and is currently being expanded to include more features. TED is made up of a number of modules which contain different tools to support Early Years staff in the effective designing, planning, monitoring, auditing and evaluation of services. It uses a single data entry system whereby information collected in one tool is used across all tools, for example, to develop Action Plans for areas needing improvement and pre-populate standard Early Years inspection documents, such as the Early Years and Children's Centres Self Evaluation Form (SEF).
